Garmin’s fitness trackers are known for their more intuitive user interface, larger displays, and generally more accurate fitness tracking capabilities. Their newest model is leading the market for a variety of reasons.

This model comes with a lot of cool sleep and fitness monitoring feature that can ensure you stay on track and finally achieve your weight loss goals, even if you’ve struggled with how to lose pad fat in the past.
Competing models offer a solid battery life of eighteen hours before a recharge is needed. Garmin easily blows the competition out of the water offering a five-day battery life with GPS use and seven days without GPS.
However, higher priced models, like the Casio WSD-F10 Smart Outdoor Watch, offers a battery life of one month, which is pretty impressive. Yet this leading Casio fitness tracker doesn’t come equipped with onboard GPS like the Vivoactive does, which is probably the main reason the Casio model offers such as generous battery life. The average fitness tracker with built-in GPS will offer a twenty-four-hour battery life or less, so at five days with GPS use and seven without, the Vivoactive still manages to take the lead.

The Vivoactive offers top of the line sleep monitoring features including deep sleep, REM and the number of times you wake up at night. Additionally, you don’t have to put the watch in sleep monitoring mode to tell the tracker when you’re going to bed. The data can give you an in-depth look at how restless you are at night, which can explain a lot if you feel like you’re getting enough sleep at night, but you’re usually exhausted during the day.
This model allows you to track every type of activity you do for more accurate activity tracking. This includes rowing, running, swimming, jogging, strength training, walking, and more. Additionally, if you do an intense weight lifting routine at the gym you can also add specific machines to your workout tracking program including stair steppers, stationary bikes, and elliptical machines.
One of the biggest downsides we came across with this fitness tracker was its limitations in terms of storing music. If you don’t use Kkbox, Awa or iHeart Radio, you won’t be able to store your songs on this device. Basically, music capabilities for this fitness tracker are only as good as the music apps you use. You can stream music from your phone and connect it to your fitness tracker, but if one of the main reasons you want a fitness tracker is so you can leave your phone behind when you head to the gym, then this type of limitation can be a deal breaker.
If you have a membership with one of the three music streaming companies we mentioned above, you can store up to five hundred songs on your watch.
This fitness tracker comes preloaded with some great workouts including a variety of gym activities, yoga, golf, rowing, swimming, skiing, cycling, and running. You can also create a custom workout.
Use the onboard GPS during your next run or bike ride for more accurate data tracking. Save routes, and challenge yourself to run faster, harder, and further than the day before. The watch also offers basic waypoint navigation, which will allow you to save waypoints and use them for navigational purposes. This will allow you to keep track of where you’re cycling or running and can help you relocate that great new bike trail you discovered last week.
The fitness tracker’s waterproof design means you can wear it during a shower, a heavy downpour, when you wash the dishes, and of course, when you go swimming. If you love kayaking, then you can also set the watch in rowing mode so you can monitor you’re rowing progress and check out how many calories you typically burn and what your average heart rate is at. Unlike fitness trackers that are merely water resistant, this model can be submerged up to fifty meters.
